VOTE NOT FOR WHAT CANDIDATES WANT, BUT FOR WHAT YOU WANT….

June 4, 2009 by margaret121

Election fever has hit our country again, we see the posters going up and pamphlets have started to arrive. People will be asking for your vote, making promises, looking into the issues you raise etc. I say to you don’t be afraid to ask the hard hitting questions, we all have a right to be represented 100% by our elected councillors. I urge you to remember to ask them what they have done to improve the fire service in North Wicklow, and what they will do to ensure we have a service 24 x 7 by years end. I have had the promises, the vow to do something, what happened…. zilch, nada, zero….. sadly we the residents have paid the price, more people have become victims to the inadequate fire service we have in North Wicklow, and I add, not just North Wicklow, the whole of Ireland’s fire service needs an overhaul. Let your voice be heard, vote not for what candidates want, but for what you want….

Fat Cats

November 1, 2007 by margaret121
Fat cats are getting fatter and we the hard working average Joe is footing the bill. Bertie and his cohorts give themselves a big clap on the back, plus a pay rise more than some of us will ever earn in a year. They say they don’t have the money to improve the basic infrastructure in Ireland, but can give themselves a fat pay rise. The money they have taken from the people for a job badly done is criminal. The money should have been put into our Fire Service, Health Service etc, not their pocket. If ever there was a clear case for the people of Ireland to see just what our so called protectors in government think of us, this is it. People are dying all around us and these jokers think it acceptable. If it was you or I who performed in this way in our employment we would have been sacked long ago, instead these people get rewarded. For shame that these people represent the honest hardworking people of Ireland…

Realities of the Retained Fire Service in Bray

Realities of the Retained Fire Service in Bray

The above document came into my house yesterday, and is a true fact of what our Retained Fire-fighters have to put-up with on a daily basis.  In this day and age this is unacceptable.  We need to write, e-mail, phone, and hound our Council, Government, TD’s, Senators and Councillors, daily, weekly never letting up on them, until the situation in North Wicklow changes.  We will accept nothing less than a fulltime fire & emergency fire service, 24 x 7, 365 days a year for North Wicklow.

Fulltime Fire & Emergency Fire Service for North Wicklow

October 11, 2007 by margaret121

The families of fallen fireman Brian Murray and Mark O’Shaughnessy will next Saturday 13th October 2007 lead a march through Bray to call for a full-time fire & emergency service for the town.  The March will depart from the Town Hall at 11 a.m.
Please support the need for a full-time fire & emergency service for North Wicklow, 24 hour, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Your being there will make a difference.
