The need for a fulltime fire and emergency service to North Wicklow is something we have a very pressing need for and have done for the past number of years. Our young people are paying for the lack of a fulltime service with their lives.
North Wicklow outgrew a retained services years ago, and the planned developments we see coming up over the next year will further overstretch the service. Our basic infrastructure has to be working before any further development burdens this vital service further. The good members of the retained service deserve the support of our councilors, TD and us, who rely on their service daily.
Join me in writing, e-mailing or phoning, Mr Dick Roche, Liz McManus, Mildred Fox and our town councilors, enough is enough; they need now to do their jobs and ensure that the people of North Wicklow are protected.
